okay guys, one last question. i'm using xfce4 as my windowmanager, and it uses a lot of files that reside in /ramdisk/home/knoppix. for instance, the ~/Desktop/Autostart directort is needed to call programs at startup, and the xfce4 .xml configuration files are at /ramdisk/home/knoppix. is there anyway that i can modify Knoppix so that it adds those config files and Autostart files when it creates the /ramdisk/home/knoppix directory? i looked at the source on my disc, and i couldn't find home/knoppix, or any suitable script. thanks again.

/ramdisk/home/knoppix or just /home/knoppix is generated at boot-time from the defaults in /etc/skel. So what you'd do is overwrite/add your configs to /etc/skel and make sure they are the same permissions as the original files in /etc/skel (owned by root, probably 755).
