sound card busy???

i'm having a strange problem with my pc. everytime i try to play a audio file or play anything that requires sound i get
a message stating my sound card is busy? however i still hear theme sounds when i min & max my folders. Is there a command that show whats being used on my PC so i can find out whats wrong with my crazy PC :lol: it's really pissing me off....

Problem solved by turning off arts sound server. strange why can't i have my theme sounds & be able to play audio :( .

If you are using XMMS then go into the preferences and change the output plugin to the Arts if is not installed the I believe the package is xmms-arts then you can have both the music and theme sounds.
