I'm trying to put knoppix on an old computer but when I try to boot it I get the following error(s):

ACPI: Unable to locate RSDP
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 00:14.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 1 of device 00:14.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 2 of device 00:14.0

Then...

Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry.
Dropping you into a (very limted) shell.
Press reset button to quit.

The computer has an American Megetrends Inc BIOS. The CD works on my regular desktop and laptop.

make a bootfloppy and use that. there is an image in /KNOPPIX on the CD. in there is also a diskmaking program, so have a clean formated floppy and put in a:\ and run the program. it should work (any computer just as long as program can nrun there ad access floppy).

Well it depends how old your old computer is. If its really old it may have no pci slots that may be the problem as knoppix is not designed to work on a computer with no pci slots.

have you checked the md5sum and done testcd?
the testcd you type in at the boot: line
boot: testcd
that checks the cd for errors.

then you can try the pci=biosirq cheatcode, that is (again) at the boot: line type knoppix pci=biosirq.
boot: knoppix pci=biosirq.
