help with my verizon dsl on linux live cd

i am using verzon dsl in clearwater,fl and cant get it to work please help i am new to knappix but old with linux redhat

You probably need to configure your DSL username and password in the pppoe dialer. It should be in the Knoppix part of the menu.

i check my username and password on it i think i have it set up right when it trys to connect it says the provider did not respond to check my cables and try again....any idea on this :!: :!: :!:
