about speedstep tool

I have updated kernel to 2.6.5, and also want use the tool named lamp to control speedstep, but when running it, it shows "Opening /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_setspeed
Segmentation fault"

I find that there is no file named scaling_setspeed in that dirctory, any one who has used lamp can help me?
