I have been experimenting with Knoppix, but have had a problem with the display of the KDE window on my computer. The Window is offset about 2 inches above the bottom of my screen. This makes the menus and area for dragging the screen to inaccessible. I have tried various ‘cheat codes’ which alter the display (e.g., font size)
This problem has been consistent with a couple of monitors, so is probably related to something in common such as the video card. Information related to video that I am able to find follows (gathered with SiSoft Sandra):
Video Adapter:
Model: Display driver for Mpact
Total memory: 8MB
Video Driver:
Model ID: m2gfx.drv
VESA BIOS:
VESA/VBE PM version: 1.00
Manufacturer: Chromatic Research
Video Adapter: Mpact 2 3DVD
Total Video Memory: 1MB

Some cheat codes you might want to experiment with are:

xvrefresh=60 or vsync=60
xhrefresh=80 or hsync=80
screen=1280x1024

It sounds like you're also running . . . uh . . . another operating system, so you could try cribbing the settings from there. The settings are "refresh rate" and "resolution."
