knoppix hangs when autoconfiguring devices

hi,

i just burned knoppix live on a cd (md5 checksum passed) and booted with it.

all went well, past the linux penguin and several lines for startup went by, but when it came to the line: Autoconfiguring.. _____________

it hung up on me. the hdd was active, and the cd was spinning too.

no buttons worked, and i looked for answers in the forums.

no, there was no pcmcia card inserted, and yes, i am using a toshiba satellite 1800 laptop. any ideas why it doesn't boot completely? :(

thanks. apparently, all it needed was another try at booting. i think it was a fluke or something. maybe a dirty cd. :)
