ok newbie here reading the forums but still cant work out what i have to do...
Using an old (p166?) laptop which i am trying to install knoppix on. No cd rom drive and only a 2 gig hd so have acrried out a "poormans" install on the HD using loadlin
however when i boot it goes threought the intilisation, dectecs devices and then the screen messess up... i suspect ithis is because i can only use up to aa 800X600 screen.. question how do i make it only use a 800X600 screen at boot?... i know that if you are booting from the CD without load lin you get a message (?boot: ?) which i belive you can enter a command into to make it run 800X600 ... however when i run loadlin, it just boots wih out giving me that prompt ... how do fix it so it works?
