Hamlet PCMPCIA Ethernet card

I am triing to run Knoppix (Ver. 3.1 or 3.2) on my Thoshiba satellite laptop but when I use the above PCMPCIA network card koppix hangs.

If the card is present at boot time knoppix hangs bringing up eth.
If I insert the card later, KDE freezes and stop responding.

Any help?
