I'd like to change the position of the icons on the Desktop but I can't do it. I don't know why, but I know that something is wrongly set. The permissions seem to be set alright....

I would try to test the CD, but it isn't possible. The data on my laptop are too important to check the CD and install it again.

Nice but if I think well enough, this isn't the safest way of copying partition on an external USB HD. Is there no other, manual way of doing it like: copy system files on the DVD, then on the USB HD...

My drive uses reiserfs file system on this drive. The drive is less than 40GB.

I have an internal laptop HD I'd like to check and defragment. How can I achieve it? I use only stable 6.2 version and the disc is making some weird "pyk noise".

I've downloaded "Stargate Atlantis True Type Font" and many polish TTF fonts I've found freely. In the evening I'll give it a go and report back, Sir! :)

I have Knoppix 6.2 since 2 month on a laptop named bravely Armada 500 :rolleyes:

I'd like to switch Knoppix data from my internal HD to the external USB HD (around 250GB) to boot it...

I don't know how to create "shell script" either. Sorry for my n00b question, but I'm a newbie and an extremely curious one :)

I started just my sys by full HD install. No polish keyboad (I didn't knew it exists 2 month ago .;) then I've lost DVD access, permissions and so on, by clicking or loading some keyboard shortcut,...

How can I refresh the cache? Manually in some way?

I don't know how it happened, but every time I start Knoppix:

- the Desktop is blocked from changes
- I can't right click elsewhere the icons (no menu is showed),
- can't arrange icons on the...

It wont work. My desktop is being blocked.

When I copy somethin from the bluetooth-aplet from my cell phone onto desktop with Ctrl+V it changes to "unblocked desktop".

And no one knows here why...

Yes, I checked it and you solved it. It's fine, that Knoppix has 2 insights where that can be changed ... .') I was and even now I'm confused of the amount of icons, menus etc.

I saw it too. I thought it could be BIOS clock battery related, but when it comes for Knoppix 6.2 the time is 1980 every time I start my sys, so I think the battery is being low on power .') I don't...
