I have been mostly using knoppix and Debian live for business and for fun for the past 2 decades or so. That is probably why there are aspects of each which I selectively prefer.

well, yeah I also:
1) make the image file read-only
2) make their attributes unmodifiable (lsattr chattr)
3) resize the file system to its bare minimum (using gpated)

after noticing the corrupted formatting but I can't edit it at all
why do you make so hard properly formatting a message? Why can't poster not enter plain html?
there actually is a way to boot from an iso knoppix image which is mounted read-only (ro), namely: using the "forensic" startup option. You would, say, startup with the one liner: then on init 2...
OK, I (most probably wrongly) thought that partition used for a "poor man's install" would be read-only anyway
Say, you would like to define the regular user directory on the starting command...

First I boot knoppix as:
then I see
I have been finding other sites the current 7.7.1 (as with amazon.com) is not displaying and then they are displayed with a totally corrupted rendering, try: https://www.wunderground.com/
What is confusing to me is that I also get:

Yes. This is what I am talking about but I can't easily take a screenshot of it because ksnapshopt was taken off ;-).
You can't access (they look grayed out) the last two options of the icon on...
I think it is important to keep ksnapshot in knoppix. Many of us use knoppix to fix, tinker with other OSs and at times we need to save GUI windows with the exact error messages
