I wonder if a firmware update is available and might help.
You could use wireshark I suppose to see if there is a lot of negotiation going on between the laptop and the Belkin, or try a connecting to a different N router to see if the problem occurs. Do...
You should be able to log on to the Belkin interface and change the channel to one of the unused ones, 9 might be a good choice, and see if it improves things.
This is a rudimentary introduction...
Have you tried changing the channel on the Belkin ? Does the output of
iwlist <interface>scanning show other wireless on the same channel, and what does the output of
iwconfig suggest as far...
Thanks for this thread, esp xmodule=nv. I had been trying vga=nv, without success. GIMF.
If you are at all comfortable operating from command line, you could try booting into a non graphic runlevel. At the boot prompt type
knoppix 2You could also try some video cheatcodes at the...
You can try : Knoppix 2, and see if you can boot to a command prompt (shell). Also vga=normal.
Another thing to consider is the possibility of a bad cd burn. Can you try the cd in a different PC...
Boot up either the Knoppix or Mint CD and try tesdisk. There's a good chance that the data on the drive is recoverable, although rebuilding the partition table may or may not be possible.
Good...
Could you post a little more info - what version of knoppix, how much ram on the mobo, what video chipset/card. Did you verify the MD5 of the cd/dvd.
A couplle of things you can try ,...
You didn't say which version of Knoppix you are using, however you might try installing the hfsutils package. In a root terminal type:
aptitude update && aptitude install hfsutils And then try...
Try opening a root terminal , from Accessories and typing: testdisk
I meant to point the OP in the direction of dmraid, and also mdadm. The link I posted states: I dont have the hardware either, and as it turns out the 6.0.1 version of Knoppix has dmraid and mdadm...
Open Synaptic package manager and search for dmraid. Then see here: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/SataRaid.
YMMV
Not sure, perhaps posting in one of the Activemq forums would yield an answer.
Try using aptitude. You didn't say which version of knoppix you are using , but in 6.0.2 ,
aptitude update followed by
apt-cache policy build-essential will show that it is in indeed available. ...
When you issue the :w command you should see something like
"test.sh" 2L, 25C written 2,1 All
at the bottom of the vi terminal. What is displayed...
You need to give us more detail. Are you running the live CD in a vm or have you installed to a virtual hd? Also can you post the error messages you see when you attempt to save the file?
Hmm, wasn't following the other thread. Indeed Hiren's or some other bootable media with chkdsk would be your best bet at this point.
Can you paste the text of the error message here so we can see what's going on?
Basically, you will have to manually copy the files from your computer to the external drive, by dragging and dropping icons between windows or right clicking on the files etc. The external drive is...
Knoppix has a few tools that can help, and there are other live cds. Here's a couple of links of interest:

...
Try installing hfsutils.
Start->Preferences->Synaptic Package Manager
Search for hfsutils, mark for installation, apply.
Not sure this will help in this case but worth a try.
Not sure if this wil help or not: in a root terminal, try:
aptitude update && aptitude install hfsutilsSee if any of the above works better after that.
