Can you upload the fixed version somewhere?
Confirmed. This is tragic since without no3d knoppix is unusable.
At least it's an easy fix, just add it to syslinux.cfg (assuming your knoppix is on a USB stick).
Ok, found the problem. You have to add kernel option:
block.events_dfl_poll_msecs=1000
That doesn't help.
Unlike all previous versions, 7.6 doesn't automatically mount CDs. I have to type "mount /media/sr0".
Well, I thought I had it figured out, but no. It's just not reliable, period. Doesn't matter what options, or cold or warm boot...it fails randomly.In any case, no3d is absolutely essential. Without...
Further investigation has clarified the situation. I can reliably boot Knoppix 6 (any options) from a COLD start. But it's not reliable from a reset. (Never had this problem with Knoppix 5)
I got it to work this way: knoppix xmodule=radeon no3d
[QUOTE=krishna.murphy;120441]Regarding Compiz, just type (again at the boot prompt)
knoppix no3d
Of course I tried that, and it's worse; the boot crashes 100% of the time with that option. With...
That should be UNexplained of course.
Well, I concluded that I'm a lot closer to getting K5 to work perfectly than I am to getting K6 to work perfectly. K6 seems to have deeper problems...many random explained boot crashes (this is on...
I have tried Knoppix 6 (6.2.1), and frankly, it's nowhere near as reliable as Knoppix 5. K5 has always worked for me, on a variety of hardware. K6 has been nothing but trouble.
No matter what I try I can't get Knoppix 5 to use 1920x1080. Tried 3 different graphics cards. It always wants to use 1680x1050 or something else. Is there an easy fix?
Boot crashes when "no3d" used. When not used, boots fine but compiz is extremely slow and buggy (Worst. Software. Ever.)ATI Radeon 8500 graphics card.Another option to try?
