still wouldn't support linux
Even if AOL put Knoppix on a CD, they still wouldn't support Linux clients on AOL! You still wouldn't be able to connect to AOL with the Linux disc.
Although, you'd think by now with the succes of Mozilla that they'd build in some kind of Linux/ alt OS support. As much as people dog it, the extra content [streaming music, secured kids areas, services] they provide is worth the little extra dime. If only they'd get their heads out [of their B()##] and sell internet connection rather than some cable/network/telcom wannabe!

Well, maybe this is better - Which Linuxer would like to use AOL?
The question was what we whant to see, I wrote that I whant to see
Knoppix on every > 400MB free space on discs. When AOL-CDs stays
useless, nevermind - there many more free CDs in normal magazins,
which can use Knoppix.

Salve Steve,
I'm not so lucky with the way I worte my postings. I don't wanted
to make more people when they still have to wait for 3.2
till 20.03.2003. (Beginning of spirng)- I just tried to motivate
visitors of the CeBIT to place Knoppix on their mirrors.
But when someone with a small conection anounced that he has
publiced it and > 100 people try a download at same time....
Also I will not hope that some "funny" people will rename 3.1 to 3.2
The best way is to relax and wait for spring
Inbetween we can make the documentation of the Persistent Home
better: http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.ph...stentHomeHowTo
Any corrections, additions to made?
Does Persitent Home support Sonys Memory-sticks?
I promise you, when Hannover would be a little bit more close to
Aachen, I would traval to CeBIT only for getting 3.2 shaking Klaus
hands, getting an autogramm of him on my 3.2, took the next train
back to server you 3.2.
Greetings
rob

Do I understand this right ??
You're downloading the new 3.2 release ??
If you are : could you please share it ? Or better yet : where are you downloading it from ?
I guess it would be greatly appreciated if you can get people who cannot visit Klaus himself a copy..

using BitTorrent for early dist. of 3.2
I know 3.2 is going to be out there soon and all the mirrors will be jammed up. Can I suggest of using BitTorrent for releasing ... or even early releases (before the mirrors). I think BitTorrent will eliminate any bandwidth issue for an early release.

Can't wait to see 3.2!!!
just my 2 cents...

Hi there
(my 1st post here).
I think that if Klauss want's to introduce 3.2 exclusiveley at CeBIT , then we shouldn't upload the iso online (especially on this official forum). yes, eventhough it's GPL (community values beyond the EULA anyone? )
it's only few days, let him finish with CeBIT, i'm sure he wants the new version published asap. besides, it couls be CeBIT branded (in walpapers, etc)... hmmm.. collector's item??? lol.
cheers,
looking forward for 3.2 as well

Is that procedure in the terms of the GPL?
Inform the press first and let the users wait?
Is that the new mind of the community that we need to beat the commercials?
