Have you tried booting Knoppix CD with cheatcode screen=1280x1024 and copying over the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 from ramdisk to hd-install?
What kind of video chipset do you have? Amount of video memory?
My current monitor resolution is 1024x768. I wish to use 1280x1024.
I have edited /etc/X11/XF86Config and /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 to remove all references to resolutions less than 1280x1024.
However, mkxf86config reports than only resolutions 1024x768 and less will be used.
Can someone advise me in my efforts to move to 1280x1024?
