ATMEL PCMCIA/V3.4-K2.4.x/Thinkpad 600e
Having a few older laptop refugees show up one being a IBM ThinkPad 600e I chose to use one of the several 802.11b cards I've got laying around.
Card is a ATMEL card 22mbps. (Works under wimpdoze, checked to be sure card was operable)
On bootup I get:
cardmgr [xx]: Socket 1: Cardbus Hotplug Device
Trying to run wlancardconfig results in "No Wireless card found"
dump_cis shows:
knoppix@ttyp0[knoppix]$ su
root@ttyp0[knoppix]# dump_cis
Socket 0:
no CIS present
Socket 1:
manfid 0x0097, 0x8402
config_cb base 0x0032 last_index 0x01
BAR 2 size 4kb [mem]
BAR 3 size 1mb [mem]
cftable_entry_cb 0x01 [default]
Vcc Vnom 3300mV
io_base 1
irq mask 0xffff [level]
mem_base 1 2
vers_1 7.0, "Wireless Network CardBus PC Card", "Global", "", ""
parse error: Invalid argument
root@ttyp0[knoppix]#
Shows the card in the socket.
lspci -v shows:
0000:05:00.0 Network controller: Texas Instruments ACX 100 22Mbps Wireless Interface
Subsystem: Texas Instruments: Unknown device 8401
Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 11
I/O ports at 4800 [size=32]
Memory at 10c00000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Memory at 10c10000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2
It was my impression that V3.3 or so had ATMEL drivers included for wireless cards, correct?
Suggestions? The forum posts seem to go:
1) Booted CD, worked great
2) botted CD, ran wlancardconfig, worked great.
I am at:
Booted CD, NO JOY
Booted CD, ran wlancardconfig, NO JOY
Thanks in advance.

It would seem from your lspci dump that you have TI ACX100 chipset in that card.
TI have not released any info. for that chipset, so getting working drivers is all a bit hit and miss.
There is a page here http://www.houseofcraig.net/old_acx100_howto.php
that seems to have lots of stuff about getting this to work with various distro's, including Knoppix.
Good luck.
