problems in console mode

well first sorry my poor english!! im spanish native!!! ok, lets go, i must to say knoppix its really great!!! ive tested a several linux distros (mandrake, red hat, debian) and this is the first that reconogzized all my hardware (an acer 223 laptop), but after hdinstall i get one error. If i try to change to a virtual console (i use crtl+alt+1) i cant return to xmode (it may be ctrl+alt+7 no??) cause it get hang. I hope u can understand this question, thanx a lot!!!!!

the return to the original text consol is <cntrl>+alt+<F1> to return to the desktop enviroment use <cntrl>+alt+<F7>
