knoppix-installer input/output errors

I haven't used Knoppix in a little while so apologies if I've missed something.

I run the script, blah, blah, then while it's installing the terminal window I ran it from fills up with errors like:

cp: reading 'usr/bin/rx': Input/output error

It says the install goes fine, I reboot and Lilo greets me with 99 99 99 99 99 99...

I've picked that one but there's a lot of them. It runs from the CD fine.

There is a potential hardware issue - but I'd rather not explore that until last.

Sounds like a bad cd. Check it with testcd cheatcode. You can boot it again tho and reinstall lilo through chroot. Just search for reinstall lilo and you'll see how.

I've made another download on a different machine so I'll try that - when it tried running the test it said Input/output error when it tried running md5sum - I tried to dmesg | less and it gave me a 'Bus error'.
