New to knoppix: Password for Plug-in.

knoppix is asking the password when I try to donwload a file. From what I have read it seems that I have to set 2 passwords before do anything. Can anyone give more information about this topic?

To set passwords:
Open a terminal (konsole)
Type sudo passwd knoppix
Enter your new password for user knoppix
Type sudo passwd
Enter your new password for user root
