When you're presented with the kde login, select non-graphical mode (or whatever it's called): it's on one of the menu tabs.
Im trying to get the NVIDiA drivers installed on Knoppix so i login as root then hit Ctr+Alt+F1 then relogin as root and type init 3 to close X then try running the NVIDIA driver but it still says X is running ??

I just did all that and got a error, drive out of space lol.
How can i remove stuff from the OS to give the partition more space ?

How much space should be needed ?
Ok did all that then ran the apt-get update and ran out of HDD space so booted back into the system and my mouse didnt work and was getting sound errors, not sure why bacuse when the system was booting it still said info from the other kernel so maybe the updates it did get screwd it up.
