many printers broke in knoppix 3.4+?

is mr.Knoppix looking at this problem ?

seems a lot of people reporting loss of CUPS
and all my "backends" unselectable.

also any trouble known with ABIT kv8pro ?
cant get thru the onboard ether,
even tho that *does* work with winXP.

So what finally fixed the problem?

I got an Epson C62 to work with Knoppix 3.7
I used the configure printer app from the knoppix menu.
You have to make sure to use the IJS version of the driver.
