I dont think the disc is corrupt I have used it on other pc's and it boots fine it just wont boot on mine. I have a drive that supports dvd + and - R and RW.
I have to admit I have not checked the CRC or MD5 though.
@ qbus:
please take a look at http://iso-top.info/files/knoppix-36-dvd.txt
Additionally after HD-Install: Lampp 1.4.7 ( german / us ), Webmin with a lot of Modules.
@ kingfish600
Examine, which format can read your drive ?, check your medium:
----> md5
----> crc

Also heard that a Knoppix 3.7 dvd is coming soon!
@kingfish600,
what a kind of copy do you have?
- direct copy or
- install on hdd ---> remaster new iso and burn it ?
please, open the iso ( mount -o loop /mnt/iso a.s.o ,
cd /boot/isolinux
edit the isolinux.cfg and in line 2, set up the TIMEOUT from 300 to 600.
following with mkisofs ......
Any Drives have small problems to find the correct bootsector in 300ms.
Greetings,
Marlis
Is there any reason why the KNOPPIX file on the DVD is 'only' 2GB ? I can think of various items which could usefully fill the remaining space for a 'live' system.
Source for Eclipse and OOo are all very worthy, but it would be OK just to be able to download these on demand. No need to put them on every DVD !
I redownload it from a different source...the fist time I used bit torrent this time I used the news groups and checked for errors with the par2 files. I'll attempt to modify it with mkisofs as you suggest however I have never used mkisofs before i'm currently running xp professional and have alchol 120%, nero, and roxy. I'll do a serch for mkisofs.
Thankx from the US
I'm sorry I misread the I message. I'll have to install to my hard drive and modify the cfg correct?
I modified the cdf and reburnt it but it still dosn't boot it was set to timeout at 900. My dvd drive is a NEC 2500. Any more ideas how to get it to boot? Maby a boot cd?
oh yes nec2500 ....
please take a look at http://users.cybercity.dk/~dsl94233/nec/107v2b5.rar .... its work fine after the upgrade.
greetings,
marlis
