w2k, freebsd, linux on 1 machine and no idea how to boot...

    Hi,

on my pc, i have installed w2k and freebsd 5.2. My bootmenu looked that way before installing knoppix on hard disk:

    F1 ? (<- Its the windows partition)
    F3 FreeBSD

After installing knoppix (i choosed debian-like installation), my bootmenu got a new point named:

    F4 Linux

Where does this point come from ? The Freebsd bootloader ?

After choosing F4 i got a grub-console. And I don't know what to type there to boot kernel 2.6. Also I have no idea what file i have to edit to automate that process (maybe its on the bsd-partition ). You see, I need a bit help...

    Greetings
    daniel

For those who want to try the same:

The first active bootloader (which generates the menu with the F-keys) comes from FreeBSD in the first primary partition mbr.

The other one, grub, comes from knoppix-hdd-install and is located in the 3rd primary partition.

There seemes to be no way to boot directly from the FreeBSD bootloader cause that one can't boot linux.

It took me some time to recognize what is happening there... Maybe it helps you when you want to install a *BSD next to windows and Linux.

    Greetings
    Daniel
