    KDE 3.3 everywhere now??

Everytime I try and install a KDE based program via apt-get, I always get errors that in depends on KDE 3.3 or sumthing, but I can't install KDE 3.3!!!

I put in some unstable sources into sources.list, I do "apt-get install kde" and I get...:

    root@KNOPBOX:/home/Stealth# apt-get install kde
    Reading Package Lists... Done
    Building Dependency Tree... Done
kde is already the newest version.
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kdebase: Depends: kappfinder (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed
Depends: kate (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed
Depends: kcontrol (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed
Depends: kdebase-bin (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed

Depends: khelpcenter (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed
Depends: kicker (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed
Depends: klipper (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed

Depends: ktip (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed
Depends: kwin (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed
Depends: libkonq4 (>= 4:3.3.0-1) but 4:3.2.2-1 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

Why it asking about 3.3? And why can't I get it?

Also, I'd like to know if there was another way to this. Maybe I can download all the debs (can someone list all the packages I need?) and the manually install them with Kpackage or something...

    3 possible reasons:
    - you dont have the kde 3.3 sources (eg unstable) in your /etc/apt/sources.list
    - you have set apt to only install software from testing and stable (eg disallowing unstable packages to install). see other files in /etc/apt (i thought the file "preferences"?) (most likely this is the source of the problem)
    - you have set kde to be on a certain version. unlikely...

    Try this:

    apt-get -s -t unstable install kde

If that works, then remove the "-s" and go ahead with the install.
