Knoppix 3.7 is out ... sort of

I was reading the latest edition of Distrowatch and I saw that Knoppix 3.7 has been released. Unfortunately it has not yet been released to the net yet. If you are in Germany, you can get it in the latest issue of PC-Welt magazine. Unless someone grabs this and puts it up on bittorrent, the rest of us will be waiting for a while. As previously reported by Probono, the 3.7 release will include "a configurable "Firewall on CD" (including masquerading and proxy features)"

    Read Distrowatch here: http://66.111.55.60/weekly.php?issue=20040913#1

The official announcement is at knoppix.com

    Hello mod, folks

I actually got me this 3.7 - first I was sceptical, because these german mags are really competitive, and you never know what they are up too.

Unfortunately, I don't have Bit-t. installed so you have to wait.

All I can say for now. This edition is the first of all knoppixes that runs from scratch with 2.6 kernel on my laptop, because the strg+alt+minus/plus keys work here for the first time.

    This month there's also the 10th-ann-issue of german "Linux-Mag" /w a Knoppix-DVD (incl. 8 diff. Knoppix-versions!) and there is a mag called "PC-Direct" that has the 'linuxtag-Knoppix-DVD-Version 3.5'

A lots of Knoppix for September, eh?

Before I invest the time and bandwidth, does anyone know if the 3.4 and 3.6 buglists have been resolved in the new version?

If anyone can guide me through the process of creating an iso image of the cd and creating a *.torrent, I'd go to the nearest gas-station to buy a copy of that (IMHO really crappy and too windows centric) "PC-Welt" magazine, I have to buy cigarettes anyways.
It's 9:30 pm here in Germany and I got to work tomorrow, but I'd leave the puter on all night for seeding via a 192kbps adsl uplink.

Update: it's 00:02 am now and I've finally figured out how to set up a bt tracker, yay! Torrent available at: http://www.osnanet.de/dlubatz/knoppi...lt.iso.torrent

Note: I'll try to keep this tracker online as long as possible, but my ISP will change my IP adress in 24 hours, so that'll be the end of sharing then UPDATE: I will take the tracker down at 22:15 pm (CET), the 15th of september; fearing the electricity bill + dynamic IP will change soon, you know

There is an changinglog for 3.7? Is it originally in german? Does it use kernel 2.6.8?

    Thanks!

Theres no official changelog so far, but it might be on the CD itself. The magazine tells me that theres a new feature called "NAT-Router-on-CD" or so.
Yes, it uses kernel 2.6.7 and its in german but "lang=us" works as usual.

Could a moderator or someone similar post an md5sum of the original image, excuse my paranoia!

Actually anyone posting a file-size and md5sum would be a good start

I am calculating the md5sum as I type.. ah, there it is: 057bb916206fcc3359a3cb0f674b0448 But that won't do anything about your paranoia I guess I booted that knoppix 3.7 CD with the "testcd" cheatcode before I created an iso image off of it! Didn't post an md5sum yet because bittorrent handles integrity checking on its own.
The filesize is, as always, as large as one standard cdr: 700 MB

Is there an unofficial release date for the standard edition of 3.7?
