Im using the Linksys WPC11 (v2.5) with Knoppix 3.4. I've run a search on this forum and found someone had the same problem, but it didn't help me at all. Anyway, when Knoppix boots up, it gives me this message:
cardmgr[75]:starting, version is 3.2.2
cardmgr[75]:socket 0: Bromax OEM 11Mbps 802.11b WLAN card (Prism 2.5)
cardmgr[75]:executing: 'modprobe prism2_cs'
cardmgr[75]:executing: './wlan-ng start wlan 0'
cardmgr[75]: + Sample private network setup
cardmgr[75]: + /sbin/ifconfig wlan0 up
cardmgr[75]: +SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such deivce
cardmgr[75]: +/sbin/pump -i wlan0 > /dev/null
cardmgr[75]: + Operation failed

Now when I use the regular Knoppix Live CD, it goes through the Autoconfigring Devices just fine, but when i use Knoppix STD it says "modprobe: Can't locate module block-major-2". The Wavelan config program doesn't detect a wireless card. When i run the Network card config it detects my nic and wlan0, but of course it won't configure the wireless card. Is there something I've missed? What other info do i need to provide to get some help?
