run network card configuration (you'll find it on knoppix icon at the bottom)
2) You need to set your connection pppoe?
run adsl/pppoe configuration (you'll find it on knoppix icon at the bottom)

ok... i pressed yes to everything in the dialog box and when they say connect to the internet now then i pressed yes. so i launched the browser and guess what? it's not working...![]()
where is the location of the pppoe dialer? thanks.
1) Netcard configuration
When asked to use dhcp, selct no.
Enter i.p address of your pc ex: 192.168.0.2 or 192.168.1.2
DNS= enter dns address (IP) given to you by your isp (**this is important, some isp won't let you surf without it)
Gateway = you can leave this blank
Others=netmask=network=broadcast=just accept what is given to you.
2) ADSL/PPPOE configuration
It will try detect your modem.
Enter your username and password
It will ask you to connect upon boot, it's your decision.
To manually connect or disconnect your dsl, run this command as SU:
To connect : pon dsl-provider
To disconnect: poff -a
If you want a nice gui for dsl connection, try kdsl. Get it from:
http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=10202
** In 3.4, sometimes knoppix won't connect on boot. To resolve this, run this commmand: update-rc.d ppp default
