    Weird memory problems

I'm remastering Knoppix for a project and am coming across some really weird occurances. Computers with 512megs of RAM or more, the CD works beautifully. Any memory amount lower than that I get different problems each time. One computer froze when loading KDE. Another computer loaded KDE but I got the stock KDE 3.2 splash screen and NOT the Knoppix splash, then the icons disappeared after 30 seconds. Another computer just loaded the desktop background but NO kde taskbar or icons.

Is this a common problem when remastering Knoppix?
