    dual head video card

Hello I just started using knoppix and this is also my first try with Linux so forgive me if I ask a stupid question. I have a nvidia 5500 dual head card and I see where to set that up but it says that I don't have that and I can't configure the settings. I found the nvidia driver but can't seem to grasp the installation procedure. If I get the driver installed will the dual head work? It says in the installation I need to exit the X server first. Ehhh what exactly does that mean? I'm very sick of windows and spyware and all of that crap, is Knoppix a OS that Icould replace windows with on a permanent basis or do most of you still use windows too?

    Thanks Joe

i have not used Windows in 4 years, eccept verry rarely when helping others and for some games (98% of cases Wine, dosemu, winex... can be used instead if you wish).
as for exiting X just give the cheatcode
    Code:
    knoppix 2
    or
    Code:
    knoppix26 2
and any other you needed to boot.
    that or
    Code:
    telinit 2
in a console. that will shut the windows environment down.
    Code:
    startx
    will start it again.

btw this only works with a hard drive install. preferably a Debian-style one.
