Just boot with knoppix26 cheatcode to see if everything works, if yes, run the installer.
Hello,
I would like to install Knoppix to my hard disk. Since Knoppix 3.6 uses kernel 2.4 by default, I was wondering if it is possible to install Knoppix to my hard disk using kernel 2.6?
Thanks,

I wasn't sure the installer would use the running kernel or if it wouldOriginally Posted by Markus
always install using the default 2.4 kernel. Thanks for the tip.

Actually, what will happen is that Knoppix will install normally with both kernels but it will append knoppix26 to the lilo append line so it will boot the 2.6 kernel.Originally Posted by eraserman
You could achieve the same result by just installing Knoppix normally then editing lilo.conf to set knoppix26 as the default boot.
Heh, wasn't actually 100% sure, just thought it would make sense to try it out with the wanted kernel before installing.
