Hi !
As few of us i met this problem :
when you want to make the two floppies to boot from an usb storage or something else, it doesn't work
Thus, just do this :
Tape
% ls /dev/fd0*
you can see there is no "fd0h1722" !
Then we gonna make it : (as root of course !)
% mknod /dev/fd0h1722
Ok. Now you edit the mkbootfloppy file :
% vi /usr/sbin/mkbootfloppy
There, you find the tree places where fd0u1440 is written
( you may tape two times (not the third !!!!--> it is for the second floppy and won't work !)) in the edited file "/:fd0u" -->this make a search.
Then correct fd0u1440 to fd0h1722
save
Run the graphical 'create bootfloppies for knoppix'
At the end of the first bootfloppy it still works few seconds : don't care and just wait for the expected message "insert the second floppydisk'"
enjoy

nb : sorry for my poor english
this is not my first language !
Just a correcction :
fd0u1722 is better than fd0h1722
