gaming in linux with an ATI AIW 9600

I downloaded ati's linux driver for my aiw 9600 and it installed fine and seems to work, but it has not help with 3d graphics in games.

For now I am just trying to get tux racer to work, but I also want to be able to play NeverWinter Nights in linux after I figure it out.

Also, does anyone know about DRI?
