How do to install program

if i use Knoppix but i need a new program to add my computer
how to do ? becaue i want to use perl to write something.
but Knoppix not PERL/TK so i want to install Activeperl use that

For HD installed knoppix use 'apt-get' to install applications. There is a brief summary of installing knoppix packages here:

If you are running off the CD you can only install applications using 'klik' and you must make a persistent home first. Search these forums for infromation on klik.
