How to disable the X from loading?
And how to enable it again,then? (:

Are you using lilo, or grub?
Booting in single mode is what you want.
If the case is grub, highlight what you would normally boot with, and hit e. Highlight the line that says kernel=, and hit e again. Go to the end of the line and type single, then hit b, and your off. The changes you make will not be saved.
If you're using lilo, type single with whatever you normally boot with preceeding.
