read only
My hda1 is UNmounted, yet I still get the same message of "Opened disk read-only. You have no permission to write". I only get this when I use the prompt (CTRL+ALT+F1) but it's fine with the KDE desktop. Any idea of why? Is there some way to get around this?

Is hda1 an ntfs partition? If it is there is going to be a problem with that. You'll have to use captive to write to it.
