Tips on How to Migrate from Windows to Linux

Hey

I'm new to linux. I use windows xp and have decided that i'm tired of microsoft and all their crap. I've decided that I should get some exposure to linux by using something like knoppix that doesn't require me to format/partition my hard disk.

Does anyone know of any good books or e-books or websites that are in depth and will help me learn how to use linux and migrate from windows (preferably through knoppix or maybe any other distro that you recommend)?
