totally new to knoppix ='(

i have installed knoppix, and the command prompt comes up to login, i log in with my username and password, but i can't get it to desktop, i tried ctrl + alt + f7, but it doesn't work. what is the matter?

You probably need to start X-windows. startx

The command to switch consoles is different in text consoles and x-wiindows consoles.
