For anyone curious, the vga=normal cheat fixed this.
Hey all,
Im trying Knoppix 3.7 on an older system. Its a k6-2 400 w/ a geforce4 mx420 vid card. The monitor is an ancient CTX 14". My problem is this... the boot screen shows up fine, but when the kernel starts to decompress? It appears as though there are 3 horribly refreshing screenshots. Let me explain a bit more, its 3 screens squished left to right. The monitor works in windows @ 800x600 with 60hz refresh rate. I tried setting the cheat with knoppix screen=800x600 refresh=60 and ive also tried screen=800x600 vsync=60, and screen=800x600 fb800x600 and it still is acting up. Also tried setting hsync to 60. Any advice? Im sure its an easy switch or cheat to get it to load properly.
