at the boot prompt. I tested it with Sony Vaio notebooks with external PCMCIA CD drive.
trying to install knoppix on an old laptop (ACER Extensa 355 ) , it only has a floppy drive and a PCMCIA ( I thnk it's TI 1131 Cardbus controller ) cd-rom errors i get are :
cannot allocate resource region 1 of device 00:0c.0
then the welcome too knoppix line, then :
dropping to (very limited shell) ...etc
when i try mount it reports :
FAT: bogus logical sector size 5120
FAT: bogus logical sector size 5120
Kernel Panic:VFS: unable to mount root fs on 01:01
any ideas (other than smartass 'buy a new laptop' :op )

You could try booting in "expert" mode, it will ask you what should be loaded. I guess you will be asked some linux "inside" questions too, so...Originally Posted by Yakumo
