Single board computer and Knoppix

Hello,
I have to test Single Board computer (SBC) - this SBC does not have graphcis processor on it. It has
- IDE interface,
- one serial port,
- two Ethernet Port (GigE) and
- a 2GB Flash Drive.

It has BIOS (I can set it to boot from CD-ROM) I want to test the Ethernet Ports and the flash drive - is Knoppix the best distro for this purpose? Should I go the PXE way?

so... it doenst have a graphics card... so you proberly wont get a picture (correct me please if i am wrong) so you dont want something heavy... there are some lighter linux distros out there... even though you can use a light version of knoppix... a minimalist version of linux...

because you only have 2 GB, you really need a minimalist version of linux...

you can either do two things... goto linux.org, and go to distributions, and search for what you want
or either, edit your own cd... type of thing... if you know what i mean...

but i reacon that the others will give you more info... sorry, i;m not much of a help

If you just need to test the ethernet ports, and can boot from cd any live should work. Set the thing up on your network, boot from cd and see if it shows up on the network. Use ssh or telnet to login then test.

Not pretty, but it should work.
