How do I open the console so I can use Linux comands in Knoppix?
And concerning security, do I need to install a firewall and antivirus if I already have them on my other OS? (Windows)

to open the console you just click the little black box at the bottom of the screen or open bash or xterm from the system menu or alt ctrl f1 to f6 and have just a console no gui.
you can run gaurddog which is a firewall. no you wont really need anti virus but you can install that if you choose to install knoppix(at your own risk) or another linux distro
