boot loader not clear

how to install boot loder grub ?

the lilo screen is fussy and difficult to read and difficult to see which is booting

simply typing grub it asks 100 questions

anybody please give me full commandline commands to replace the lilo with grub

i have upgraded lilo and grub

onc installation time i saw the upgraded lilo was showing good screen

also i want to edit the partions shown on the boot screen

lilo was asking device scanner missing in the base ?

what does it mean

i have now installed and reinstalled knoppix abt 20 times.

everytime it is differrent in one or other aspects

now i have somewhat good installation except for the boot screen

help help

as suggested i tried google search

it gives more people having trouble installing grub

i have posted here as experienced knoppix mastering people can give me a solution

i request somebody give me command lines to replace lilo with grub

or to improve lilo screen showing all non bootable partitions

why it shows 3 linux kernels whats the difference

all boot the same knoppix i have installed and upgraded

i am not experienced in linux command lines
