knoppix 3.7 on dell latitude CPi D266

I start my knoppix 3.7 from cd on my laptop and it gets stuck on the line Looking for CDROM in:/dev/scd0. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with it? Is it only dell's problem with knoppix?Please help.
