hi,
i've got an old sony vaio (z600) that for other linux installs requires a ide1=0x180,0x386 parameter to be passed so that the install can find the CD.
I tried this with Knoppix 3.7 and the screen shows the hda and hdc being correctly identified, but continues to hang at "Accessing the KNOPPIX CDROM at /dev/scd0"
1. how do I get past this stage?
2. how do I install once it does complete?
TIA
Simon
