More news: Chris-Harry's avatar found dead

Friends of frequent Knoppix.net poster Chris-Harry will be saddened to know that his famous "fanged banana" avatar has been found in London, gruesomely murdered.

The avatar had previously been reported missing. "I knew something had gone pear-shaped," said Chris-Harry, "when I posted and all that showed up was a broken-picture icon."

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard, Dee Licious, confirmed the awful details. According to Ms. Licious, the missing avatar was found outside a restaurant on The Strand, cut into halves, laying in a bowl filled with vanilla ice cream, covered with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, candied cherries, and toasted almonds.

"I've not seen anything like it since my childhood," said Ms. Licious, who appeared visibly upset, while burping and patting her mouth with a napkin. "We immediately put the 'remains' on ice. What was left of them, that is."

The investigation is continuing.
