Boot failed - Last line: power management functions enabled

    Hi all...

I can't boot from my Knoppix CD...the following happens:

    boot:_

    loading...(some filename here)
    loading...(some filename here)

Then the penguin shows up and right under it:

    Error: only one processor found

    Welcome to KNOPPIX live Linux-on-CD
(5 lines of text follow here)
    INIT: Version 2.78-Knoppix booting
    Processor 0 is AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ 2000MHz, 512 Kb Cache
APM Bios found, power management functions enabled

This is the last line, the big cursor stops blinking and after some seconds the CD spins off and HDD stops working..
I tried disabling all kind of power management in my bios before booting from CD but it didn't solve anything..
The same CD is running without problem on my laptop, so it is not a problem with wrong burned CD or something..

If anyone has an idea of what to do pls post thx in advance...

Looks like you need one (or more) of the cheatcodes.

You might as well start off with

    knoppix failsafe

(do this at the boot prompt, so it reads

    boot: knoppix failsafe

    )

This is the most drastic cheatcode: later on you can try and refine it/them

The cheatcodes are here: that's right, right above your head all the time!
