Problems with RTT2500 Wifi/ Knoppix 3.8

I can get the system to register the card by ifconfig ra0 up and going through the wlcardconfig but I can't get a connection to the network...Any attempts to either ifup ra0 or pump -i ra0 lock the system. It's pulling all the settings from the router correctly but doesnt seem to be able to send any or ping anything. Also KWifiConfig or Wavemon crashes the system too. Any ideas?

i have the same problem. no one bothered to answer you. we share the problem and many others also have the same problem. knoppix detects hardware but freezes system on any attempt to start route client.

freezing happens because ifconfig tries to override automatically configured TCP/IP settings. this is impossible so system freezes. good news is that all you need to do is to run dhclient.
