no one have any idea then?![]()
Hi everyone,
once re-mastered to CD, upon boot I am getting quite a few errors in the knoppix-autoconfig script (like line 542) where it tries to save settings to /etc/sysconfig/desktop, for example... It says read-only file system.
As far as i can tell it's not a ro filesystem, and is mounted as rw?? only var/home are in the ramdisk?
If anyone could shed some light as to why this may happen that'd be great. It's preventing some services from starting properly
Kind regards,
Duncan

have you made sure that the desktop type files things <--knotice me technical terms...
for example, do you have the files (in the correct place), for the desktops like KDE, XFCE, ICE, etc...
(i dont know if this will help sorry)
That's OK, thanks for replying..Originally Posted by chris-harry
I have actually removed KDE/X windows, so perhaps it is complaining yeah.. but its the /etc/sysconfig/desktop file its complaining about. I'll just remove it ...
There were a few other places in /etc/ it was trying to write to for system services upon boot too, i dont know why it should be read only!
