Cannot find filesystem
I ordered a CD of Knoppix and am booting from a floppy disk. However, during the boot process, it tells me that it cannot find the KNOPPIX filesystem and allows me to exit the boot. Does anyone know how to remedy this? Thanks in advance.

Boot into your normal operating system- windows I presume, have a look at what's on the cd you bought. Is it a bootable disc or does it just contain a file named something like Knoppix-blah-blah.iso ?
If it has the .iso extension then you do not have a bootable cd. You can make a bootable cd from the disc you bought though.

I have looked at the CD and there are no files with an iso extension. The file named Knoppix has no extension so I'm assuming I have a bootabel CD. Any suggestions?

I assume you made the floppy from the Knoppix cd yourself? How did you do it exactly?

You're correct. I did make the floppy myself by using the rawrite2 program included on the CD and writing the boot.img file to the floppy.

If your floppy has these files on it then it should work:
boot.msg
f2
ldlinux.sys
logo.16
miniroot.gz
syslinux.cfg
vmlinuz
This is just a guess but do you have 2 cdrom drives? If so did you put the cd into the other cdrom drive?
BTW- I have Knoppix 3.2-03-30 and it has a batch file named mkfloppy.

First, I do not have another CD ROM. I checked the contents of the floppy and it matches what you indicated along with an extra file named german.kbd. I also checked the CD and I have a file called mkfloppy also. What might you suggest I do?

I used the mkfloppy batch file and it worked fine on 2 systems. I really have no idea why it wouldn't work on yours. I would try another floppy as it is possible to wear them out (I always have good luck with Windows For Workgroups floppies)
Anybody else got any ideas?
