trouble installing

I'm trying to install knoppix to the hard drive. In the qtparted step, i keep getting the error "Error: The file system is bigger than it's volume!" This occurs after I hit commit and when the program first opens. If i just ignore it and try to continue with the installation it takes me to the options screen with just 1.Partition and 2. Quit. Any thoughts?

Not sure about the error message-but what specifically are you trying to do with qtparted? i.e are you resizing an exsisting partition, and what filesystem is the current partition?
IMO qtparted can have problems. If you don't mind the commandline try cfdisk and create a partition make it bootable and then retry the install.

I'm trying to make two partitions on the hdd, one large one and a swap. The hdd has nothing on it. Qtparted says that the swap is formated correctly and the home is ext2 for some reason. I also get an error something like mkfs.ext3 failed when commiting the changes
